Tandoori Paneer Tikka

Cottage Cheese-Vegetable Barbecue


500 gm cottage cheese, cut into cubes

250 gm green peppers, cut into cubes

250 gm onions, cut into cubes

250 gms tomatoes, cut into cubes

For the Marinade

1 litre thick yogurt

2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste (made with 1 inch piece ginger and 10 cloves garlic)

2 tbsp tandoori masala

1 tbsp garam masala

3 onions, grated

250 gm tomatoes, pureed

5 tbsp oil

Salt to taste

Chilli powder to taste


1. Heat oil and fry grated onions till golden brown. Add ginger-garlic paste and fry for one minute. Add tomato puree and spices and fry for two to three minutes.

2. Add yogurt and fry again for three to four minutes. Remove from heat. Add the cottage cheese, peppers and onions. Marinate for three to four hours.

3. Just before cooking, add tomatoes and thread all these alternately on the skewers and then roll them generously in the marinade.

4. Cook on a hot grill until vegetables are tender.

5. Serve hot with mint chutney and sliced onions.

Note: You can make boiled baby potatoes and cauliflower the same way.
