Rolled Potato Snack


For the dough

500 gm plain flour

100 gm gram flour

Salt to taste

1/4 cup oil

For the filling

500 gm potatoes, boiled and mashed

1 tbsp garam masala

3 tbsp fresh coriander, chopped

1 tbsp ginger-chilli paste

1 tsp chilli powder

2 tbsp dried coconut, grated

2 tbsp sesame seeds, toasted

100 gm gram flour vermicelli (sev)

Juice of 1/2 lemon


1. Mix together both kinds of flour and salt. Add the oil and then add enough water to form a semi-soft dough and divide it into three portions. Set aside. Mix all the ingredients for the filling and divide into three parts.

2. Roll out each part of the dough into a big roti, spread the mixture evenly all over the surface and roll it tightly. Cut into one inch pieces.

3. Set aside for half an hour and fry them in hot oil until crisp and golden. Drain and serve hot.
