Spicy Sprouts Mixture
For the Misal
1 cup small variety motki, soaked and sprouted
2 medium potatoes, boiled and cut into small pieces
1/2 tsp black masala
1/2 tsp garam masala
1 tsp chilli powder
2 tsp crushed garlic and ginger
2 tsp lemon juice
3 tbsp oil
4 cups water
Salt to taste
1 cup poha chivda
1 cup Indian savoury mixture(farsaan)
1 cup onion, finely-chopped
2 tbsp coriander, finely-chopped
1 lemon, cut into bits
4-6 loaves sour dough bread (pav)
For the misal
1. Wash, drain and boil the matki until tender. Do not allow the seeds to burst. Drain and keep aside. Make a paste of all the masalas with one cup of water.
2. Heat the oil in a large deep saucepan and add ginger-garlic paste. Stir-fry for one minute. Add the masala mixture and the potatoes.
3. Mix well. Stir-fry until the oil separates. Add the boiled matki and the remaining one cup of water. Allow it to boil. Simmer on a low flame for ten to fifteen minutes. Add salt, lemon juice and keep hot.
In an individual serving bowl, place one tablespoon of chivda at the bottom and then the farsaan over it. Pour a ladle full of misal over this. Garnish with chopped onions and coriander. Squeeze lemon over it and serve with pav.
