MHALSAPATHI - SAI BABA MAIN DEVOTEE

Mhalsapathi was one of Sai's devotees. He was Chief Priest of Shri Khandoba's Temple situated at Shirdi. When Sai visited Shirdi for the second time, Mhalsapathi understood Sai's divinity through his spititual vision. He addressed Baba by the name of Sai Baba for the first time. After Sai had gone to the Dwarakamai Mosque, Mhalsapathi spent most of his time sitting beside the holy feet of Sai Baba rather than passing his time in the temple service. His saying was that God Khandoba had incarnated in Shirdi in the guise of Sai Baba. So, the place where Sai Baba lived, would be considered his ultimate 'Abode of Deliverance' .

Mhalsapathi was not only a great scholar but also he was a firm believer in all the religions. He spent his whole time in the spiritual discussion with Sai Baba. Sai too had great affection for Mhalsapathi. He became carefree after assigning the duty of proper care of the mosque and all the devotees to  Mhalsapathi. That is why only Mhalsapathi was allowed to sleep nearby Sai.
