Tatya Kote was Bayaja Bai's son. Sai Baba regarded him as a foster or god-brother. Tatya Kote held the highest position among Sai's devotees. He, too, served Sai Baba whole-heartedly just like his mother. In addition to Mhalsapathi, Tatya Kote was also permitted to stay at night in the mosque along with Sai Baba. Once, when Tatya was in the grip of an incurable disease, Sai Baba saved him at the cost of his own life. That sacrifice by Sai Baba shows how deeply he loved Tatya Kote.
